Every year, the Health Department compiles a report regarding the State of Health in the Township of Teaneck
It’s a great resource and full of data about the Town’s health.

- Communicable diseases: 105 cases (2.5 cases per 1,000 residents)
- Deaths (by primary cause):
- 190 (Cardio Vascular (CVD) & Pulmonary (CPD))
- 31 Cancer (various)
- 1 Diabetes
- 2 (Intestinal (includes Failure to Thrive)
- 7 (Kidney/Renal)
- 12 (Liver/Sepsis)
- 7 (Pneumonia)
- 4 (Stroke)
- 21 (Cerebro-Vascular Disease (incl. Dementia))
- 7 (Accidents (incl. Homicide, Suicide))
- Lead: 6 cases of childhood lead poisoning were investigated
- Noise complaints: <10 cases
- Animal Control: 304 requests for service
- Housing / Property Maintenance:
- 710 property maintenance inspections
- Approx 900 violation notices
- 152 summonses issued
- 53 summary abatements
- 800 inspections for multiple family dwelling, hotel, etc…
- 4,769 birth/death/marriage certificates
